Sunday, March 26th, 2006 3 p.m. Church of the Epiphany 1317 G St., NW (at Metro Center) Love is in the air with the world premiere performance of Sonnet 22* - a new work composed by Joel Hoffman. Accompanied by two harps, the rich voices of the Camerata will sing a beautiful sonnet by Elizabeth Barrett Browning - wrapped in Hoffman’s soothing harmonies. We’ll also sing some classic popular tunes by Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, and Cole Porter - along with madrigals and folk songs - all on the subject of love. * Commisioned by James Pinkerton and Jack Harrington. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington DC Come and let the Camerata’s voices lift you in song as we celebrate our newest CD with a concert of glee club classics. We’ll perform songs from our brand new recording including Biebl’s Ave Maria, Shenandoah, Down in the Valley, and The Battle Hymn of the Republic. Continuing our mission of supporting male choral music, we’ll be joined by a special guest choir for part of our program - the Annandale High School Men’s Ensemble under the leadership of conductor Carleen Dixon. | |
