Our 25th Anniversary Season! |
|
Thanks to all who attended the final concert of our '07-'08 Season at the Kennedy Center Terrace Theatre on June 14th. Landlubbers and sailors alike had a great time as the Camerata sang "Songs of the Sea" for a near-capacity crowd.
Plans are already well underway for our 25th Anniversary '08-'09 season, which begins with a gala event on Sunday, October 26th. The party will be a celebration of the Camerata's 25th birthday, Frank's 50th, and his 10th anniversary as music director of the group. The Food Network's own Ace of Cakes, Duff Goldman, is designing a special creation to commemorate the occasion! Watch this space for more details.
Our concert season will kick off with our annual performances of "Christmas with the Camerata," 12/7 at Fairlington United Methodist Church, 12/8 at Church of the Epiphany and 12/14 at Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church. Our mid-season concert on 3/22 will be "Sacred and Profane," featuring the rarely-heard Szekszárd Mass by Franz Liszt, along with secular music from middle-European composers like Kodaly, Janacek and Dvorak. Our Kennedy Center concert on 6/6 will be "Thanks for the Memories," taking a nostalgic look back at the first 25 years of the Camerata's distinguished history. Watch this space and your mailbox later this summer for more information on how to become a season subscriber!
